How the Maple Leafs can fit Alex Pietrangelo into their cap situation

The Alex Pietrangelo sweepstakes are heating up with four teams reportedly in the mix to sign the 30-year-old. Toronto is a strong favourite because of the way they can structure his contract and the fact that it’s literally his home.
But there’s been a lot that’s said about a possible sign and trade, which Pierre Lebrun said could be likely. He said the St. Louis Blues could be looking for a first or second round pick in exchange for the defenceman.
Before we go that far though, can the Maple Leafs even fit him into their cap situation? Essentially, yes, but it’s going to be difficult. Here are one of the many ways you could go about doing it:
