That’s why there’s no reason to overreact to Toronto’s 5-4 shootout loss against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night at Scotiabank Arena.

That said, we both agreed that it’s a lazy narrative to blame the officiating. As we’ve seen time and time again, the Leafs took their foot off the pedal. And the Canes made them pay.
