For the second time in 11 days, the Leafs will square off the Colorado Avalanche. This time, it will take place at Scotiabank Arena.
Of course, back on March 8th, Colorado scored five unanswered goals to throttle Toronto 7-4. It’s time for the Leafs to return the favour!
Naturally, we kicked off the Wednesday edition of Leafs Morning Take by giving our quick thoughts on the matchup against the perennial Stanley Cup contender. After that, we got into this news story from The Athletic. According to the report, Maple Leafs season ticket prices will be increasing as much as 20% next season. How about that for a kick in the pills? As if it wasn’t hard enough to go to a game in Toronto these days.
Brought to you by Sobeys, we offered a game preview. Although there’s been no confirmation, it seems very likely that the Leafs will ice the same lineup they dressed for Monday night’s 6-2 win over Calgary. Joseph Woll will make his second consecutive start. On paper, it’s a fun match-up. Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, among others, are absolute stallions. Meantime, don’t look now but Auston Matthews is starting to heat up. Additionally, all eyes will be on that McMann, Domi, Robertson trio to see if they can do it again in this one.
Then, thanks to Charm Diamond Centres, former Leaf and current Colorado Avalanche colour analyst John-Michael Liles dropped by the show. Firstly, we discussed leadership. MacKinnon’s a monster, so is Gabriel Landeskog, even though he hasn’t played in two years. On top of that, Liles disclosed that he’s buddies with Brandon Carlo from his time in Boston. He talked about the adjustment period when a player gets moved to Toronto. Lastly, we dissected Colorado’s 2022 Cup run.
We’re headed to Nashville for the first ever TLN Nation Vacation. With that in mind, there will be no show tomorrow. Additionally, please note that Friday’s edition of Leafs Morning Take will be airing LIVE at 5:30 PM ET from Love & Exile Winery & Bar in East Nashville. See you then!
