You may or may not remember Kalle Kossila. He played 12 games for the Marlies last season. He received a two year deal to do just that. Well, it looks like he’s not long for the Leafs or the Marlies, as we anxiously await an official announcement on the start of the NHL season, with a looming AHL season in February, we have Kossila taking a gig in Europe.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Kossila won’t be back in February or January for that matter, but all signs point to Kossila being done with the Leafs organization, as this loan is likely for the remainder of the DEL season, and Kossila is free agent at the end of the year.
None of this is really going to bother you, and the move could be an effort to make room for some of the more interesting players who might have been on the Growlers roster before their season was cancelled.
So a fond farewell to a Leaf/Marlie we hardly knew. Enjoy Munich.
