We will have a lot more on this, but for the time being this is a huge win for the Leafs, clearing some cap space, getting a solid 1st Round pick, and some depth options in exchange for other depth options.

Kapanen has two more years left of his contract paying him an AAV of $3.2M.
The rumoured but unconfirmed return is…
Rumblings this morning the Leafs and Penguins are working on a trade that would send Kasperi Kapanen to Pittsburgh.
With the 2021 1st being committed to Minnesota, that would mean the Leafs would be getting the 2020 1st, which is the 15th overall pick.
Apparently Kappy isn’t travelling alone…
