For the first time this postseason, the Leafs must win, or their season will be over. It’s do-or-die time, baby!
Following a dismal Game 5 performance, there’s reason to question which Leafs team will show up for Game 6 tonight in Sunrise.
Once again, the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take doubled as a therapy session – with Jay Rosehill back in the mix – after whatever that was on Wednesday night. Understandably so, a good portion of Leafs Nation is broken. Can you blame us, though?
Furthermore, we talked a little about the Carolina Hurricanes, who advanced to the Eastern Conference Final on Thursday night after disposing of the Washington Capitals in five games. They await the winner of Florida and Toronto, which of course, they could find out tonight. Let’s hope not!
After that, brought to you by RVezy, we preview Game 6. The season’s on the line —plain and simple. To be honest, we essentially repeated what we said prior to the last game. The big boys need to be the big boys, and most importantly, the Leafs need to show up. On top of that, they need to find a way to get the power play going. They’re 2-for-18 in the series. Additionally, judging by the lines at the morning skate, it looks like Calle Jarnkrok and Pontus Holmberg will be coming back in the lineup in favour of Nick Robertson and David Kampf. All in all, it will be fascinating to see how the Leafs come out in this game. We could be witnessing the end of an era, or they could dig deep and setup a winner-take-all game on Sunday night in Toronto. Fingers crossed.
Lastly, for the CRISPI HOT TAKE OF THE DAY, presented by the Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer, Producer Vick tried to manifest a big game from the captain. He thinks Auston Matthews changes the narrative and leads the Maple Leafs to a Game 6 victory.
