Leafs/Devils Preview + Ryan O’Reilly lands on LTIR: Leafs Morning Take

For the first time since they both departed Washington last summer, Ilya Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek will go head-to-head tonight in Newark when the Leafs visit the Devils to wrap up their five-game road trip.
Good job, Brian MacLellan.
Powered by our friends over PointsBet Canada, we kicked off the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take by previewing Toronto’s third and final meeting with New Jersey this season. If you do recall, the Leafs went into Prudential Centre in late November and pulled out a 2-1 victory to snap New Jersey’s 13 game win streak. That game will always stick out because the crowd went absolutely nuts after the Devils had three goals overturn. Sorry, not sorry.
Additionally, we dove into Toronto’s lineup changes. Hope you’re ready for 2C Sam Lafferty. In case you missed it, both John Tavares and Ryan O’Reilly won’t play tonight. The captain is under the weather while O’Reilly is expected to miss about four weeks with a broken finger.
Meantime, be sure to join us on Wednesday at 11 AM ET for another jam-packed show. We’ll recap tonight’s game, plus 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Devante Smith-Pelly will drop by.
