Leafs practice notes: McCabe ruled out, Domi, Pacioretty return to skate, Kampf does individual work

Throughout the opening quarter of the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been battling the injury bug, but it looks like several roster regulars may be working their way back from various ailments.
David Kampf participated before the morning skate took place. Kampf is eligible to return on December 14, as he’s currently on long-term injured reserve. He was placed on injured reserve on November 19, retroactive to November 16, then was moved to LTIR on November 20, allowing the Maple Leafs to call up Nikita Grebenkin from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
Max Domi and Max Pacioretty participated in the morning skate. Pacioretty was placed on LTIR on November 20, after suffering a lower-body injury on November 9 against the Montreal Canadiens. He was originally placed on IR on November 11, with a week-to-week designation. The 36-year-old is eligible to return on December 7, when the Maple Leafs face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pacioretty has recorded two goals and six points in 13 games.
Domi is currently on injured reserve and is eligible to return whenever he’s deemed ready. The 29-year-old has missed Toronto’s past four games due to a lower-body injury. He recorded six assists in 19 games but struggled to generate offence through November, mired in a 13-game point drought. It appears that Domi could return as early as Wednesday’s game against the Nashville Predators, but no formal designation has been made yet.
Jake McCabe was notably absent and will miss Monday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. McCabe took a puck to the face during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning but head coach Craig Berube indicated post-game he would be fine and wouldn’t miss any time.
“Day-to-day, but I think he’ll be fine. Just a little precautionary tonight, but he should be good,” Berube explained via TSN’s Mark Masters. “Just the circumstances of it all I think it’s the best thing to do for the player. You know, you gotta be careful.”
Philippe Myers took regular reps during Monday’s practice and will factor into the lineup instead.
“I’m just super fired up to play tonight,” Myers told Sportsnet’s Luke Fox.
Myers has appeared in just one game this season, during an Oct. 26 loss to the Boston Bruins.
