Leo Komarov Could Miss Significant Time

By Tom Hunter

When he was missing from the lineup over the weekend, the news on Leafs forward Leo Komarov was vague at best. We still don’t know what is bothering the All-Star beyond it being ‘lower body’ but it looks like he may be the latest Maple Leaf veteran to be shut down for the season.
Sounds like Komarov could be out for a while. Leafs got discouraging test results back on whatever is bothering him.— James Mirtle (@mirtle) March 21, 2016
Mirtle mentions test results coming back but no mention of what the actual injury is. The 29-year old winger was one of the very few players left in the lineup from the start of the season. While the fan favorite will be missed, the injury creates yet another hole in the lineup to be given to a Marlie who is looking to get a head start on impressing coach Mike Babcock before training camp in the summer.
Maybe the injury is significant, or maybe it’s just something that needs a little extra time, but with the way this season has been going it makes sense that we may have seen Komarov for the last time this season.
