After being with the Marlies since December on a PTO, and then signing for the rest of the season in March, it looks like Joseph Blandisi will be back for another year.
The 28-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Toronto, making him the second veteran on the team with an AHL contract. Joining the Marlies later in the season due to a knee surgery done in the spring of 2021, Blandisi was able to make the most out of his shortened year.
He spent a lot of games bouncing around Toronto’s top-six, finishing the season with 12 goals and 29 points in 43 games.
Joseph Blandisi, who's from Markham, on getting to play in Toronto: "I've always wanted to wear blue and white. I had 12 family members here today, so obviously this is an exciting opportunity and when they offer came, there was no way I was saying no to it."
After a whirlwind of a season, playing within the organization he grew up cheering for, Blandisi will get to dawn the blue and white once again.
