<p>Marner is widely considered to be the best trade target available, although he&#8217;s shown no inclination to waive his no-movement clause. The 27-year-old recorded 26 goals and 85 points in 69 games during the 2023-24 season, before adding a goal and three points in seven postseason games as the Maple Leafs were eliminated by the Boston Bruins.</p>
<p>There have been fair criticisms of Marner, with the expectation that he&#8217;d elevate his offensive profile during the playoffs, especially during a series where Auston Matthews and William Nylander were dealing with injuries and migraines.
