The NHL today announced who will be participating in each of the skills competition and Mitch Marner will be in the breakaway competition facing off against Roberto Luongo.

It will be interesting to see how long Mitch looks around for someone to pass to while heading in on Luongo. (I kid, I kid. Do you think I&#8217;m upset the Leafs have one of the best playmakers in the league?)
The fact is Mitch Marner is an incredibly creative player and this event is very much suited for that and his goofy personality. The event will certainly have some other fun aspects to it as the Crosby/Ovechkin team up should raise an eyebrow, Pastrnak isn&#8217;t immune to having fun, and the same can be said of Marner&#8217;s former London Knights teammate and local entrant Matthew Tkachuk. If you remember anything about this event, bet your house on Tkachuk getting the win.
We&#8217;ve already seen Jack Hughes go the magic route with this event previously, so Marner might not be able to go with his &#8220;Magician&#8221; nickname angle on this one. We can only hope it also doesn&#8217;t involve him wearing his goofy ass hat he&#8217;s prone to arriving at the arena in.
Part of me expected Marner to be in the dunk tank event, but he dodged that one.
