Nine new cases of COVID-19 found in players, NHL says

The National Hockey League has identified nine new cases of COVID-19 in its players, it said in a statement Monday.
The league has conducted 2,900 tests on 396 players that have participated in phase two with a total of 23 cases being found, the NHL said. A total of eight new cases have been identified since their latest announcement on June 29th.
Outside of the phase two protocol, one new case of COVID-19 has been found in a player bringing that total to 12.
All players who have tested positive are following protocols set in place by the CDC and Health Canada.
The NHL and its teams will not be identifying players who test positive without approval from the NHL or NHLPA.
