As the qualifying offers trickle out to the public, it appears one Maple Leaf didn’t receive a qualifying offer from the organization he began his pro career with.

According to @UlvisBrozhe, the Maple Leafs did not qualify Kristians Rubins. Unless the two sides can find a way to make a deal happen, he's off to free agency.

Kristiāns Rubīns nav saņēmis kvalifikācijas piedāvājumu no Toronto Maple Leafs, liecina @Sportacentrs informācija. Tādējādi 24 gadus vecais aizsargs kļuvis par NHL brīvo aģentu un meklēs jaunu komandu

Rubins’ qualifying offer was set to $787,500 and it looks like Toronto has decided to part ways with the 24-year-old. He spent almost all of last season in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, but did emerge as a possible seventh defenceman in the future.
There’s always a chance he re-signs with Toronto, but at that low of a number, I doubt he returns.
