Maple Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov may arrive in North America sooner than expected.
The KHL has announced the cancellation of their remaining regular season games and will dive straight into the playoffs. Their post-season will begin on March 1st and Amirov’s team, Ufa Salavat Yulayev has made the cut.
Once Amirov’s playoffs have concluded, the 20-year-old will likely re-join the Maple Leafs organization, either as a member of the NHL squad or playing with the Toronto Marlies. I’d say he’d join the Marlies for the rest of their season, but you never know.
It’s not known yet as to when he’ll touch down in North America, but stay on the lookout because one of the Maple Leafs top prospects may soon be coming to town.
