It’s been seven months since Maple Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and it seems as though there’s some more good news in regards to his recovery.
Amirov is listed on HC Salavat’s roster for their first road trip of the season, via the team’s Instagram and website. This is yet another piece of good news ahead of his hopeful return in either “November or December.”
The 20-year-old and the Maple Leafs agreed that he’ll stay with the Russian hockey club for the entire season. Remaining in his home country will allow him to be close to family and in a more comfortable surrounding while finishing off his treatments.
It’s another step in the right direction and everyone within and outside the Maple Leafs organization is hoping for the best.
