As it turns out, Forbes Magazine is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs are worth one billion dollars. That is several dollars.
So how much is a billion anyway? Well, using advanced technology such as my phone and Google, I figured out just that.
$1,000,000,000 is…
- 4,612,546,130 Eggo waffles. Prices may vary, of course.
- 1,010,101,010 hockey pucks.
- 625,000,000 medium cups of Tim Horton’s coffee. It’s about $1.60 a cup, depending on where you are.
- 16,669,444 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II from Future Shop.
- 4.545,661 Dion Phaneuf jerseys from Sportchek.
- 7,143,367 pairs of Bauer Vapour Edge Hockey Skates from Canadian Tire. On sale, mind you.
- 1,715,795.61 shares of Apple stock. It was $582.82 per share at the time I wrote this).
- 294 Special edition 2011 Sang Noir Bugatti cars. They run about $3.4 million each.
- 285 years of Jeff Finger as a defenceman. He was paid $3.5 million each season for 4 seasons.
- 138.8 of the State of Alaska in 1867. No, really.
- 125 years of Gary Bettman’s salary, which is apparently $8 million.
- 21 times the amount of money Michael Jackson paid for the entire Beatles catalog in 1985.
- 16.6 Tiger Woods mansions. His Florida mansion is said to be $60 million.
- 5.88 Atlanta Thrashers franchises. Sold for $170 in 2011.
- 1 Toronto Maple Leafs
In other news, there’s still a lockout.
