<p><a href="https://www.nhl.com/news/this-date-in-nhl-history-june-26/c-280997572?tid=279684992">June 26, 1999:</a> The Canucks drafted Daniel Sedin at 2nd overall and Henrik Sedin at 3rd overall after a series of trades made by Brian Burke to land the 2nd and 3rd pick at the 1999 NHL Draft.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.espn.com/nhl/news/story?id=2498872">June 23, 2006:</a> In part of a five-player trade, the Canucks acquired Roberto Luongo from the Panthers in exchange for Todd Bertuzzi.</p>

Teemu Selanne was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame (watch the video below to see him getting the news from Lanny McDonald). The Finnish Flash completed his NHL career with 1,457 points in 1,451 games played including a record-breaking rookie season in which he scored 132 points (76G and 56A).</p>

<p><a href="https://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/2014/11/24/exmaple_leaf_coach_pat_quinn_dead_at_71.html">June 26, 1998:</a> Pat Quinn was hired as the Leafs&#8217; head coach. He would go on to coach the team from 1998 through to 2006 achieving 300 wins, which put him at second most in franchise history. He also served as GM from 1999-2003.</p>
