Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday! 

This week was a big one for the Toronto Maple Leafs in their history. The &#8217;44-&#8217;45 Leafs were led offensively by 19-year-old Ted Kennedy (54 points in 49 games) and 34-year-old Lorne Carr (48 points in 47 games).
Toronto posted a 24-22-4 record finishing third of six NHL clubs that season. In the playoffs, Toronto squared up against the Montreal Canadiens beating them in six games.
In the finals, Toronto met up with the Detroit Red Wings where the Leafs built a commanding 3-0 series lead. Toronto faltered, however, losing three straight to the Wings forcing a game seven.

Fast-forwarding to 1962 and it was the likes of Frank Mahovlich (71 points in 70 games) and Dave Keon (61 points in 64 games) leading the way offensively. With Johnny Bower in net, the Leafs went on to finish second in the league with a 37-22-11 squaring up against the New York Rangers in the first round.
Toronto took them out in six games advancing to the finals against the Chicago Black Hawks. The games went the same as they did in the first round — Toronto won games one and two, lost games three and four, before closing out with game five and six victories.
In the playoffs, Tim Horton lit up the league scoring a team-leading 16 points in 12 games.
