Can the Leafs stay perfect in 2025? Most importantly, can they sweep their two game mentors trip?
We’ll find out tonight as the Leafs visit the Carolina Hurricanes.
It was a wild start to the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take. For the most part, I gave my honest review of the new Jerry Springer docuseries on Netflix. If you’re looking for something to watch, I would suggest doing so. It’s just two episodes, so it won’t take up a lot of yoiur time.
At any rate, after that, we got into a game preview. This will be the first meeting with the Canes this season, which means that these two squads will hook up three times over the course of Toronto’s final 40 games. In terms of lineup changes, it looks like Nick Robertson and Pontus Holmberg will draw back in with Max Pacioretty and Ryan Reaves projected to be healthy scratches. Honestly, I don’t mind the shuffling of guys. It keeps them motivated and driven. Joseph Woll, who’s 7-3-0 in his past 10 outings, will get the call. Toronto has won five in a row and six of seven.
Brought to you by Charm Diamond Centres, former Leaf/Hurricane Tim Brent mae his first ever appearance on the show. Yes, we talked about his infamous shift in 2011. Yes, we did get his thoughts on Steven Lorentz name dropping him after a killer shift against Vegas in November. All in all, it was a fun chat with Tim, who actually calls Raleigh home now. It’s always fun to link up with some of Rosey’s former teammates.
Carter Hutton will be in for Jay Rosehill on the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take. Join us at 11 AM ET as we recap Leafs/Canes, look ahead to Leafs/Canucks on Saturday night, and play another edition of Take It or Leaf It.
