The Toronto Maple Leafs have activated defenceman Cody Ceci from the injured reserve, the club announced Friday.
Ceci, 26, has been out of the Leafs lineup since Feb. 5 when he suffered an ankle injury.
“He’s very consistent with how he plays with his competitiveness and his ability to help us on the penalty kill,” Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said at the time of Ceci’s injury. “Below the dots in our zone, he’s as competitive and strong a guy as we have.”
In 54 games with the Leafs this year, Ceci has scored one goal and seven assists. At 5v5, the defenceman has posted a 50.14 CF%, 50 GF% and an xGF% of 50.43.
Ceci isn’t expected to be in the Leafs lineup Friday against Anaheim.
