Toronto Marlies On Ice Goals Performance

Continuing the Toronto Marlies statistical breakdown, this post is devoted to player’s on-ice goals for and goals against totals.
Korbinian Holzer entering the game versus Lake Erie had been on the ice for 15 goals against. Of those, 10 were on the power play, and he had not been on the ice for any shorthanded goals – Toronto has allowed four shorthanded.
Holzer was on the ice for five even-strength goals against in 25 games, an average of one for every five games.
The Leafs 4th round pick (111th overall) in 2006 was on the ice for every goal against the Lake Erie Monsters, compromising 21% of his 19 total goals against and almost doubling the five even-strength goals.
Mark Fraser was on the ice for three of the four goals versus Lake Erie, putting him on the ice for 21 total goals against.
Here’s a great example of a statistically killer night. Holzer has performed adequately, on the ice for 16 goals scored, all at even strength. It’s fairly clear he is ready to join the Maple Leafs blueline once (if) the NHL resumes playing games on the ice, not in the boardroom.
It’s no surprise to see Jake Gardiner and Mike Kostka at the top of all categories, considering the amount of ice time they get. Kostka leads with both 44 goals scored, and 18 power play goals scored.

At the opposite end is 2012-13 enigma, Joe Colborne. While he’s been on the ice for 17 goals scored, five at 5v4, he’s only been on the ice for seven (7) goals against, a remarkably low number when considering the average is 14 goals against.
Greg McKegg also has been on the ice for seven goals against, but he receives less ice time in comparison to Colborne, although with the slump, that ice time gap has likely decreased between them in more recent games.
It’s a shame that the AHL lacks in ice time statistics. It would make a lot of analysis much more adequate, but I digress.
Two of Colborne’s goals were scored 4v4 – leaving him on the ice for five even-strength goals against.
