Gagner returns to the Marlies for a second stint one day after the Canucks acquired Josh Leivo from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The London ONT., native recorded three points in seven contests during his recent stint with the Canucks.
The 29-year-old forward was a final cut at the Canucks training camp this past fall. Gagner inked a three-year $9,450,000 dollar contract with the Canucks in the summer of 2017.
Gagner has suited up for 15 games with the Marlies this season, scoring at a point-per-game rate.
The Canucks still retain Gagner’s NHL rights and can recall him from the Marlies at any point this season.
