Welcome to “2 Guys and a Goalie,” starring Dustin Nielson, Joaquin Gage, and Matt Kassian and presented by Odds Shark, Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken, and Sports Clips Haircuts. The show focuses on stories, notes, transactions, and everything else happening all around the NHL and the world of hockey.
There is no goalie this week, as Gager’s away but Shawn Belle’s back to fill the net.
The boys chat about the fast starts by @Auston Matthews and whether he’s the second best player behind @Connor McDavid, and how many goals he’ll have this year.
But they first get into the @Evgeny Malkin injury and what it means for the @Pittsburgh Penguins’ season. They also touch on the @Sidney Crosby scrap with @Pierre-Luc Dubois over the weekend, and if a superstar should be fighting in today’s game.
Kass and Belle then share their thoughts as players on the @Columbus Blue Jackets’ home-opening video that seemed to take shots at some of their players who left during the offseason.
They also talk about the individual hot starts in the NHL to start the season by @Connor McDavid, @Mika Zibanejad, @Dylan Larkin, @Anthony Mantha, and @Auston Matthews, who’s been the most impressive, and what hot starts can mean for the individual player and their teams.
Kass and Belle share some stories from one of their former coaches, and some of the ridiculous things that they experienced.
