Here’s a little midweek prospect news for you. Maple Leafs prospect Andreas Johnson just scored three goals for his Frolunda side in a 6-3 romp over Skelleftea.
It’s often difficult for the average joe to find tape of SHL games and highlights, so a big stick tap to Habs Eye on the Prize writer @Zeb_Habs for putting together the following GIFs, even if they really were meant for third-best Leafs blog Pension Plan Puppets…

The Leafs’ seventh-round pick in 2013, Johnson continues to produce this season after breaking out in SHL and Champions Hockey League competition last year. In 24 games, Johnson now has 11 goals and 21 points, which is highest amongst U24s in the SHL (Johnson is 21).
Johnson signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Leafs back in June and is expected to make the jump to North America next season. Nations overlord Thomas Drance wrote about Johnson’s success back in October, if you’re interested in reading more.
