Brandon Kozun signs with KHL’s Jokerit

Here’s one free agent the Leafs won’t have to worry about; Brandon Kozun is off to the KHL after signing to play with Jokerit, based in Helsinki, Finland, for the upcoming season.

The actual report, when translated, reads “Jokerit has made winger comprehensive agreement for the period 2015-16 with Brandon Kozunin (sp)”, which sort of indicates a one-year deal but we’ll wait for confirmation on that.
Kozun had a real up-and-down season with the Leafs last year. He broke into the lineup via some Brandon Bochenski-like performances in the preseason, but was quickly sidelined with an ankle injury and never really got that hype back.
Kozun originally came to the Leafs in January of 2014 by way of a trade with Los Angeles, with Andrew Crescenzi going the other way.
