Gauthier returned to Marlies

Why have a Goat Tracker if you don’t track The Goat?
After just two games in his first NHL stint, Frederik Gauthier was returned to the Toronto Marlies.
Gauthier picked up 22:02 of ice time over the two games, and did not register a point. He skated most of his ice time with Josh Leivo and Connor Brown. He contributed two shots on net, and was on the ice for a goal against. He put up a 61.3% Corsi at even strength over the admittedly small sample.
There’s not much to be said about this move, as he’s the sensible move to return to the AHL as Bozak slots back into the lineup.
While it’s unforeseen how Gauthier will fit into the Leafs plans for the rest of this year and in the future, he did seem to earn praise from head coach Mike Babcock.
The Marlies play their next two games at home against the St. John’s IceCaps, this Saturday and Tuesday, while the Leafs face off against the Ducks on Thursday night.
