The day is finally here.
Coming up tonight from Scotiabank Arena, the Leafs will host the Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 1 of their first round rematch. Toronto, who’s trying to avenge last season’s seven game heartbreaker, went 2-0-1 against Tampa in the regular season. As we all know though, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are a different animal.
On the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take, we offered our last-minute analysis and thoughts on what Toronto needs to do to finally get over the hump. It’s like Christmas morning all over again. It’s been a long journey back here again —that’s for sure.

Meantime, powered by our friends over at Skip, we were joined by 2003 Conn Smythe Trophy winner and former Toronto Maple Leaf Jean-Sebastien Giguere. The 45-year-old dished on the Samsonov/Vasilevskiy match-up, the series as a whole, and also his crazy run in ’03 for the Anaheim Ducks.
