James Reimer leaves practice with Leg Injury

If there are two things that act as Optimus Reim’s kryptonite, you assume that they’re the Boston Bruins and freak injuries. After a weekend of getting beaten by the former, the latter appears to have snuck its way in as well, as the Leafs’ starting goaltender left practice with an injury.

This isn’t Reimer’s first practice injury; in fact, his last similar occurrence came around this time last year. On December 12th, 2014, Reimer tweaked his groin while preparing for a game against the Detroit Red Wings. That injury only took him out of the lineup for a single game.
This one appears to be in the lower body as well, but not in the same spot; Reimer appeared to be favouring his left leg as he skated off the ice.
Through fifteen games this year, Reimer has posted a 7-3-1 record and a career-high 0.934 save percentage. The Leafs have until Saturday to figure out who starts in goal; their next game happens that night against Washington.
