Jhonas Enroth to take place of Lehner at World Cup

The Toronto Maple Leafs are once again putting their footprint on the rest of the hockey world, as Team Sweden announced a change in their roster which will give Leafs fans an opportunity to watch their new backup goalie do backup things at the Air Canada Centre slightly earlier than expected. 

This won’t be Enroth’s first song and dance at an International tournament; far from it, actually. The 28-year-old has represented Sweden at the U17, U18, and U19 levels, at the World Juniors, at three European Hockey Tours, three World Championships, and the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Between all those tournaments, he’s suited up for 60 games.

Enroth joins Auston Matthews (North America via USA), James van Riemsdyk (USA), Morgan Rielly (North America via Canada), Milan Michalek (Czech Republic), Frederik Andersen (Europe via Denmark), Roman Polak (Czech Republic), Leo Komarov (Finland), Nikita Zaitsev (Russia), and Mike Babcock (Canada head coach) as Leafs representatives at the tournament.
