LGD: Bruins, More Like Booins

You’ll have to tune in and get your fill of Toronto Maple Leafs hockey action tonight, because it’s going to be a long week for you otherwise. After tonight’s game, the U.S. Thanksgiving schedule kicks in and the Leafs won’t play again until Saturday night. On the plus size, that just means that Toronto has a full week of Mike Babcock practices, so I’ll accept nothing less than a finely-tuned puck possession team come next weekend’s date with the Washington Capitals. I predict Ovechkin won’t even get a shot off.
But hey, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The Leafs play Boston tonight, and here’s your primer…

The Leafs

It looks like Mike Babcock will insert Nick Spaling in for Daniel Winnik if Spaling is ready to return from injury this evening, but otherwise this is the same lineup that Toronto rolled a couple days ago. That means no Frank Corrado again. *Single tear*

The Bruins

This team used to be so good. Like so, so good. They won a Stanley Cup. But wow, this is just a shell of that former team. And nothing makes me happier.

Starting Goaltenders

It’s James Reimer vs. Tuukka Rask Part II, as both of Saturday night’s netminders will return between the pipes this evening. Reimer has been otherworldly of late and will give Toronto every chance to get back in the win column, but as we know already, Rask has game-stealing ability himself. Take the under.

What to Watch For…

  • An epic Roman Polak montage for his 500th career NHL game.
  • Keep a close eye on Brad Marchand. He’ll probably spear you if you don’t.

What Not to Watch For…

  • Goals, probably.
