Calgary has a lot of players from the Toronto area in the lineup tonight, though none of them are on the shortlist to be poached at free agency for the Dynasty years.
Starting Goaltenders
Brian Elliott will start for the Flames. He allowed three goals in 26 shots in a relief session on Saturday. In 22 appearances this year, he’s posted a 0.893 and had an 8-11-2 record.
In goal for the Leafs is Frederik Andersen. His January numbers still aren’t great, but 25 of 27 on Saturday, even if it ended in a shootout loss, is pretty solid stuff. Calgary hasn’t exactly been a juggernaut this year offensively, so he won’t be too hard-pressed.
What To Look Out For
Four million reminders about geographical location. In fact, the Leafs should just run a Hyman-Marner-Brown line the entire night just to even out the broadcast. Also, the Leafs are on a losing skid and they lost to Calgary last the two teams faced each other, so clearly this is the night for motivation, right? Puck drop is at 7:30 and you can catch this game on TSN.
