LGD: Five Alive

If nothing else, the Leafs have made a series out of this thing. Even if it falls off the rails from this point on, Toronto have put up a fight that most outsiders didn’t believe to be possible against the Presidents Trophy winners, and that’s something to be very proud of.

Also, it’s loser talk. The Leafs want to win this game, and they want to win this series, so they’re heading back to the Phone Booth to attempt to once again steal home ice.

Will the Matt Hunwick and Martin Marincin are actually good parties continue tonight? Here’s hoping. The Leafs are going to need to play the Capitals tight tonight, especially now that they’re feeling a little bloodthirsty.

On the positive side, while we don’t know for sure yet, there seems to be a chance that Marcus Johansson might miss tonight’s game. If he draws out, Chandler Stephenson will come in. The 22-year-old native of Saskatoon put up a career high of 10 goals and 28 assists in 72 games with the Hershey Bears this year.

Holtby and Andersen tonight. Holtby is mad about puck luck. To me, it’s been pretty even, but Andersen’s winning the race of not showing public frustration. The Leafs will be hoping for more bounces in front of Holtby’s crease tonight, I’m sure.

The Leafs need to play their most aggressive game of the year tonight, and it has to come right from the start. Taking it easy in Game 4 burned them early, and left him climbing up a mountain too steep for their own good. Press immediately, get the crowd out of it, and get on with it.
