This morning, @Morgan Rielly, issued a short video to Leafs fans from his home on Wednesday, preaching the importance of social distancing and how we all need to watch out for each other during the trying times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
From Rielly’s video:
“Just checking in during a challenging time for everyone, and the Leafs as an organization just have a couple of reminders during this time to take care of one another and keep your hands clean. It’s really what we can do as individuals to help this whole situation. (Washing your hands) is important to do it for 20 seconds, do it for 30 seconds… think more of Mitch Marner puck possession numbers than Zach Hyman for example. Or do whatever you gotta do — sing Mr. Brightside — and make sure that you take your time with it and you take it seriously. I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the doctors and the nurses and the people on the front lines that are taking care of us. Us as individuals we have to do our part to take care of one another and to clean our hands and keep our distance and stay home. Let’s take this seriously.”
Rielly joins an ever-growing list of NHLers such as Connor McDavid, Blake Wheeler, Mikael Backlund, @Jack Eichel, @Nico Hischier, @Rasmus Dahlin, and @Jonathan Bernier that have come out and used their social platforms to encourage fans to practice social distancing as much as possible during this time.
