After a lengthy but successful five-game road trip (3-1-1), the Leafs are back home, baby!
The Los Angeles Kings are in town to start a string for Toronto that will see them host six of the next seven at home before they depart for Sweden.
By the way, if you’re a fan of Jay Rosehill’s rants, this show was filled with them. He was in a MOOD.
We kicked off the Halloween edition of Leafs Morning Take by unveiling the costume that I wore over the weekend. Spoiler: I was Bret Hart. Hope some wrestling fans watch/listen to this podcast! Not bad for a costume I put together last minute, right?
Meantime, presented by DoorDash, The Appetizer focused on the injury updates from Leafs practice on Monday. It looks like Timothy Liljegren is a ‘go’ for tonight after leaving Saturday night’s game in Nashville. Additionally, Sheldon Keefe said he expects Jake McCabe back at practice as soon as Wednesday. Good news on both fronts. Also, I would think Conor Timmins is getting closer, too.
After that, brought to you by Wendy’s, we previewed tonight’s game. Weirdly, three of the past four encounters between Toronto and Los Angeles have been blowouts, so I can only wonder what’s on tap for tonight. At any rate, I’m looking forward to seeing Joseph Woll back in there!
Furthermore, as mentioned, we discussed the importance of the next few weeks. The Leafs will play a lot of home games, and undoubtedly, they need to take care of business before the schedule shifts the other way for them. This is the time to start creating some separation in a once again jam-packed Atlantic Division.
Join us on Wednesday at 11 AM for a full recap of Leafs/Kings, plus we’ll look ahead to Thursday night’s HUGE tilt in Boston. Through nine games, the Bruins (8-0-1) have yet to lose a game in regulation.
