Phil Kessel Named To All Star Roster

The National Hockey League has announced their talent pool for this year’s All-Star Game in Columbus, and surprise, surprise, Phil Kessel is representing the Toronto Maple Leafs.

What Else Is New?

This is the first time that Kessel has participated in the All-Star Game since 2012, mostly because said games didn’t exist in 2013 and 2014. In the aforementioned game, Kessel teamed up with Joffrey Lupul and Tyler Seguin, putting up a goal and two assists in a 12-9 victory over Team Lidstrom. Previously, he played in the 2011 game, going pointless after being selected last in the Inaugural All Star Draft.

Does It Matter?

Not really. Nobody is going to buy his jersey because this year’s All Star Jersey is the worst thing ever. No media member is a strong enough combination of gutsy and witty enough to ask his temporary bench boss how coachable he was after the game. As long as he doesn’t get injured and makes Blue Jackets fans happy, it’s all good.

Who Else Is On The Team?

No other Leafs, so nothing worth looking for. Okay, fine, the full list can be found here.
