It’s quite the day to be Nick Robertson. Not only did he just find out that he’ll be on the Leafs roster for the playoffs, but he was also selected to be on the OHL’s 2019-20 First All-Star Team.
Robertson made the team thanks to his league leading 55 goal season, as well as his 86 points that put him in 10th in scoring, while also playing the fewest games among those ten players with only 46.
Robertson was a second round pick for the Leafs last year, and this season has skyrocketed him to being arguably the Leafs top prospect, unless you think Sandin only playing 28 games with the Leafs is still small enough to be considered a prospect.
But Robertson wasn’t the only player in the Leafs organization to get a nod to the All-Star team, as defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer got selected after getting 82 points in 58 games with the Ottawa 67’s, leading OHL defenseman in points.
Hoefenmayer was originally a fourth round pick for the Arizona Coyotes in 2017, but wasn’t signed, and the Marlies signed him to a deal a couple of months ago. For now, he’ll start with the Marlies and look to play well enough to get an NHL contract.
