Welcome to TheLeafsNation Game Day where we take a look at today’s Leafs game and a few other things happening around the league all with daily fantasy in mind.
I think it’s safe to say not many foresaw a 4-0 victory and a Jack Campbell shutout in game of three between the Leafs and Edmonton Oilers. But in game two, the Leafs can expect a different Oilers team to show up.

Who I like

William Nylander ($4,900) has been heating up as of late with three goals in his last two games. He’s now got five points in five games this year and that continue to climb. He’s averaged 9.2 FPPG this season.
On the top line, Joe Thornton ($3,600) continues to be great value given his cost. He’s scored three goals and 10 points in 10 games this year while averaging 8.3 FPPG this season.
Connor McDavid ($9,200) is more likely than not going to have a big performance tonight. It’s not often he’s held off the scoresheet, let alone struggles to produce much offensively. He has 22 points in 14 career games against the Leafs and is averaging 19.1 FPPG this season.
Evan Bouchard ($3,800) sat out the weekend game but will draw back into the lineup. He’s averaged 7.7 FPPG this year and loves to shoot the puck.

Around the NHL

Chris Dreidger ($7,300) is a cheaper start against a good Carolina Hurricanes team, but he’s been one of the best goalies in the league this year posting a 7-2-1 record and a .928 save percentage.
Brayden Schenn ($6,100) has been providing great value this year scoring 17 points in 21 games and averaging 11 FPPG. 10 of his points have been goals this season.
The Minnesota Wild have been red hot as of late and that’s largely in thanks to Kirill Kaprizov ($4,200) and Mats Zuccarello ($5,400). Either of the two are solid plays.
