When’s something going to happen?
All’s quiet on the Leafs front —at least for now.
We kicked off the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take by breaking down the outfit on Toronto Raptors first round pick Grady Dick. My goodness; what a suit and what a name. Knowing Masai Ujiri’s track record, this guy’s likely going to be a stud.
Alright, back to hockey talk.
It goes without saying but Thursday was another tough day for Flames fans. And poor Frank Seravalli, who had to deliver the news via a flurry of tweets regarding the future of some their marquee players. Enter Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Additionally, we recapped Thursday’s news regarding the salary cap and what it projects to be for next season. Ultimately, it’s not a great development for the Leafs, but it’s also not the end of the world. At this point, they need every cent possible.
Meantime, as the draft approaches, there’s a billion questions surrounding this squad right now. The next two weeks could be franchise defining, but ultimately, everything starts with the lead-up to the draft. As things situate right now, Toronto is scheduled to make three picks. Of course, Kyle Dubas emptied out the cupboards at this year’s deadline. For what it’s worth, I had no problem with him doing that.
