Don’t look now but the Toronto Maple Leafs are starting to streak.
What’s with this team and the month of November, right?
Holy smokes, what a showing it was in Sweden for Willy Nylander. The guy’s an absolute rockstar. Furthermore, I thought it was ending of the NHL Global Series was quite poetic with Nylander potting the OT winner versus Minnesota and all that.
We kicked off the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing just that. All the talk going into Toronto’s trip to Sweden was about William Nylander, and undoubtedly, all the talk out will be the same, too. He can do no wrong. He deserves the spotlight —for sure. Without question, The Door Dash Appetizer wrote itself on Monday’s show. All Nylander, all the time, baby. I’m just enjoying the ride and appreciating the dominance. Also, I think lost in the shuffle of this story is how good the Bertuzzi-Tavares-Nylander trio has looked in recent outings. It’s been a nice development.

Meantime, after that, we dissected the John Klingberg situation. It’s been weirdly quiet on that front, and as the days go by, you start to wonder if the Swdish blueliner could be destined for LTIR. Of course, Conor Timmins is closing in on a return, so the Leafs will have some decisions to make over the next few days. There are so many moving parts, including speculation that Toronto and Calgary have continued their trade discussion from last week on the Zadorov/Tanev front. We’ll see where it goes.
The Leafs may be off until Black Friday, but as you’re all aware by now, the Leafs talk doesn’t stop. The show goes on. Join us on Tuesday at 11 AM ET as we welcome in yet another great guest. Matthew Barnaby will drop by the program to dish on what he’s seen from the Maple Leafs so far this season.
