WWYDW: Nazem Kadri’s New Contract

Since being drafted back in 2009, Nazem Kadri has consistently found himself in the middle of a number of controversies. No, Kadri isn’t getting in trouble with the law, fighting fans or tossing lawnmowers; the controversy is often created by the fans or media, instead. They argue how many points he’ll put up, where he’ll fit in the roster, and most recently what kind of money the Leafs should be willing (or not willing) to pay him.

That’s what we’re going to be focusing on today… Kadri’s next contract.

Currently, the 25-year old Kadri earns $4.1M a season on a one-year “show me” contract he signed last offseason. It’s time to negotiate a new contract, and this time around Toronto will need to purchase some UFA years.

So what exactly is Nazem Kadri worth? Some people think he’s junk (those people are probably junk) and others think he’s worth well over five million dollars on a long term deal (which is a little crazy, too). So, if it was up to you, how much do you shell out to keep Kadri in Toronto?
