Look who’s back on the ice! Coming out before today’s practice, the super man with the less-than-super shoulder injury himself #34 showed off in front of cameras while having a go on the Leafs’ practice ice at the MasterCard Centre.
But wait, there’s more!
Not only did Matthews have his own private skate, he even went out there… with everyone else!

While it was nice to see Matthews out there with his teammates, it wasn’t actually his first time on the ice since the injury 13 days ago now, as various reporters said he’d been skating daily over the past week.
As the team’s been on a four-game road trip, Auston was apparently doing his own skates, which his coach thought was probably boring for the 20-year old.
Babcock on Auston Matthews participating somewhat in #Leafs practice: “It’s good for him, right? Just mentally, instead of hanging out by yourself. We were gone for 10 days and these are his buddies, so who did he hang out in Toronto with?”
Mike Babcock gave a classic Mike Babcock non-answer as to when he’d return.
Hope to see ya soon, Auston!
