Check out Frederik Andersen’s Team Europe goalie mask

With the World Cup of Hockey only a couple of weeks away, the players slated to compete are really gearing up for it – literally.
Yes, that’s right, pictures are starting to surface of Frederik Andersen’s goalie mask for the tournament, where he’ll represent Team Europe.
But just because he’s representing Europe doesn’t mean he isn’t getting a little nationalist – the Denmark native, who can’t represent his country at the tournament because, well, there is no Team Denmark, still has some nods to his home country on the mask, pictured below.

The mask is also very Leafs-centric, which makes me wonder if he might wear this mask in the NHL as well. If he does I wouldn’t complain: that big white Leaf on the top isn’t shabby at all.
Andersen’s Team Europe opens their tournament against Team USA on September 17th in what’s actually the first game of the entire tournament. He’ll compete with Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss for playing time.
