With their 5th round pick, 128th overall, the Toronto Maple Leafs selected Dakota Joshua of the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede. Joshua is a 6’2, 182lbs centre with some offensive skill.
Committed to THE Ohio State University Buckeyes, Joshua will return to Sioux Falls for one more year before making the jump to the NCAA’s Big Ten Conference.
In his first USHL season, Joshua contributed 38 points in 55 games, playing behind several USHL veterans that should make way for the Dearborn, Michigan native next year. Expect a significant jump in production when Joshua takes on a larger role in 2014-2015.
