Frankie Corrado thinks the Maple Leafs are a very flawed team: Leafs Morning Take

Hands up if you experienced severe PTSD watching Thursday night’s Leafs game in Sunrise.
I know I did. It felt like I was watching last spring’s second round playoff series all over again —at least Games 3, 4, and 5.
Incredibly though, the sun did come up on Friday and the sky is not falling.
We kicked off the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing the Dmitry Kulikov shove on William Nylander. Personally, I was annoyed no one addressed Kulikov —whether it was clean or not. Jay Rosehill didn’t see an issue with the play. Fair enough. I still think this team can play tougher and meaner.
After that, presented by DoorDash, we got into the Appetizer, which obviously was a deep dive into the 3-1 loss. WTF happened? In the grand scheme of things, it’s one game of 82 but there’s no question we’ve seen that seemingly careless and lethargic rodeo before. Unfortunately, no one seems to have an answer why the Leafs do what they do. Ultimately, they have some time to figure it out, I just don’t want to see that garbage in the postseason.
Meantime, TSN Hockey Analyst and former Maple Leaf Frankie Corrado dropped by to offer a therapeutic perspective to everything we’ve witnessed through the first four games. After talking to Frankie, I felt better, and quite frankly, that’s all that matters. Breathe.
Lastly, brought to you by Wendy’s Canada, we previewed Saturday night’s tilt in Tampa between the Leafs and Lightning. It doesn’t seem like Tyler Bertuzzi will play. Pontus Holmberg was recalled earlier today.
Join us on Monday at 11 AM ET for a full recap of that one. Also, we’ll look ahead to the final three games of Toronto’s five-game road trip.
