And so Joseph Woll will make his third consecutive start as the Leafs host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night at Scotiabank Arena.
We kicked off the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take in unusual fashion. Right off the hopper, Rosey proclaimed his excitement for Tiger Woods’ return to pro golf this weekend, so we spent a good portion of the opening segment randomly talking about golf. You never know what you’re going to get with us.
Once things got back on the rails, presented by Door Dash, The Appetizer focused on the injury to Mark Giordano. In case you missed it, the 40-year-old will be out week-to-week with a broken finger. Any way you slice it, it’s a big loss for Sheldon Keefe and company. Furthermore, we discussed what this means for the ongoing trade watch. We all know Toronto covets a blueline upgrade or two, but do they need to be urgent with it now?
Thanks to the Wendy’s Daily Faceoff Survivor, we offered a full preview of the Leafs/Kraken game. For what it’s worth, Toronto has taken three of the four all-time meetings with Seattle. Joseph Woll will start in goal and it looks like Bobby McMann will come in for Ryan Reaves. Also, it appears William Lagesson will draw in for Giordano. All I want is a consistent effort, and maybe a regulation victory, too. Is that too much to ask for?
Meantime, brought to you by SOBER CARPENTER, legendary TSN Host James Duthie dropped by the show. We touched on the crease, the team’s inconsistency issues, and how the Leafs could get a potential deal done with Calgary.
Lastly, as I mentioned on Thursday’s podcast, Bruce Boudreau will sit in for Jay Rosehill as my co-host for the next two shows. Join us on Friday at 11 AM ET as we recap Leafs/Kraken plus look ahead to Saturday night’s tilt at home against Boston.
