Kozun Reassigned to Marlies

Feb 22, 2015, 13:56 ESTUpdated:
Forward Brandon Kozun was reassigned to the Toronto Marlies this morning, as per a release on the Leafs’ website. The Marlies play at 3 p.m. today, so it’s likely he’ll slot in the lineup there. He’s managed 11 points in 23 games so far with the Marlies.
Kozun hasn’t been overly impressive in his eight games with the Leafs this season, posting one goal and one assist through eight games, and taken just three shots. However, he’s managed just over 63 total minutes of ice time. Since small sample sizes are great, he’s actually leading the team in even strength points/60 minutes.
Kozun put up 108 and 107 points in back to back years in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen, so he’s definitely shown his ability to score. Last night probably won’t be the last time you see Kozun in a Leafs uniform, and it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll ever get an opportunity at the NHL level with more than eight minutes of ice time a game.
