Morning After Report: Can We Just Start the Playoffs Already?

Apr 6, 2018, 09:35 EDTUpdated: Apr 6, 2018, 01:36 EDT
Alright, so that was an insufferable hot mess. But, it was also an understandable, insufferable hot mess.
So, let’s just get tomorrow night over with, embarrass the Habs, and get ready for the playoffs, shall we?
1-0 Leafs from Will Ny the Hockey Guy’s 20th
Jake Gardiner makes a nice play off the faceoff to keep the puck in the zone, dishes it to Auston Matthews, who dips and dodges Travis Zajac, passes it Marleau, who deflects it to Nylander, who spins and wires it by Keith Kinkaid for his 20th of the season. Yeah, a lot happened, and it required a couple weird bounces at the end, but it’s all we got from them today, so just love it.
1-1
Fun fact: in 19 fewer games, Pavel Zacha has 82 fewer points than Mitch Marner, despite being drafted only 2 picks lower.
Anyways, nice give and go between Maroon and Zacha, and a good shot too.
2-1 to the Playoff Clinchers
Patrick Maroon did his best impression of former teammate Connor McDavid last night, setting up both goals. This one was straight from Gretzky’s office (another former co-worker), and Miles Wood did a good job up front being “the guy that Gretzky passes to”.
Final Review
Playoffs. Now!
