Panthers Hire Leafs Player Evaluation Consultant Wes Clark

According to Thomas Drance of the Nation Network, the Florida Panthers have hired away Leafs player evaluation consultant Wes Clark to become an Ontario scout.
It’s not really a big move per se, although it does effect both the Panthers and Leafs organizations. The Panthers add someone who, if he does his job well, could significantly bolster the prospect pool of the Panthers.
For the Leafs, they lose someone whom they presumably valued within the organization, at least to some extent. And as Nations Overlord Thomas Drance notes, Clark had a particular connection to Assistant GM Kyle Dubas:
I won’t pretend to know a lot about Clark, but the move does make me a little sad since he has a pretty good Twitter feed. I’d say he definitely has the best feed of anyone in the organization (well, he did anyways), and he often tweeted interesting articles about some of the brightest minds not only in hockey, but in all of sports. So, now I’ll have to grudgingly enjoy his Twitter feed knowing he no longer belongs to the Leafs, and instead now works for an Atlantic Division rival that looks scarily close to contending for the Cup.
I don’t have much else to say on the matter, so here’s a picture of a baby elephant:
Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.
