Well, that wasn’t the news I wanted to wake up to, but so be it.
Prior to today’s morning skate, the Leafs announced that Auston Matthews will be out a minimum of three weeks due to a knee strain.
It was another jam-packed edition of Leafs Morning Take. With Jay Rosehill on his way to Toronto for tonight’s game with yours truly, he filed another instalment of 3 Hits With Rosie. The guy never misses, folks.
Obviously, the Matthews news dominated the show. Hell, I’d argue it overshadowed the whole Matt Murray REVENGE GAME narrative that’s about to take place tonight against the Ottawa Senators. I’m looking forward to it.
Meantime, The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta dropped by again. Before getting into some juicy trade rumours and targets for the Leafs, we discussed the Matthews news:
Lastly, I aim to give you another winner after Rosie dropped the ball once again with his Pens pick on Thursday night. Here’s my PointsBet Canada bet of the day.

Make sure to join us at 11 AM ET on Monday as we recap a two-game weekend for the Maple Leafs. Most importantly, we’ll give you all the details on tonight’s alumni box appearance for us at Scotiabank Arena. This should be good.
